Red shirts force cancellation of a charity concert

^ Perhaps they shouldn't have, but it just goes to show how low these people are. I blame them 100%. Wherever they go and whatever they do causes people anguish and holds this country back!

Yes it is wrong to disrupt a charity event, but let's not forget that this is a total photocopy of what the PDRC/Yellows did at the Red Cross charity event on Phuket. I you are going to condemn and hang the reds then you need to equally condemn the yellows.

Oh Chooka please, are there any purples you can bring into the post.

So any supporter of anything that's not red are NOT allowed in their stronghold areas.?? these designated red villages and areas should be BANNED, If anyone wishes in any area to vote for whoever there should be no intimidation.

This the proof that Feb 2nd election and any other should NOT take place UNTIL these nuts are stopped and dispersed. ANY others also.

My take on this--the reason Yingluck wanted elections quickly is so that intimidation was still these Issan areas, was not controlled and well she knew it.

This was always on the cards, one of the reasons for the protests.

The P.M. at the time - for her own re-election turned a blind eye to these tactics.

I think you misunderstood me. I was condemning this action not just by the reds but also the identical action by the PDRC/Yellows.

I didn't misunderstand you-and understood what you meant, BUT it was a separate story from other demonstrations, In a red area, control freaks.

The concert organizers should have know what would happen if they had a proven anti government protestor on stage. Don't blame the Reds blame the organizer of the event.

yes that would be right, how dare anyone else have an opinion different to the reds thugs. Hitler anyone, maybe kim, these useless pieces of excrement are now telling people who is allowed in any area they occupy, they dont give a sh*t for the farmers or the poor as long as they get to do whatever they want. Comeone all you red appologists, tell us this is democracy in action, do as we say or we will kill you, the red mantra.

For example, how many concerts of Bob Dylan has to be cancelled over decades in some countries?

Not only Thai Yellows and Reds doing such stupid things.

Yes, how dare they get someone that people want to see, how dare they go against the will of the red guard, how dare they exercise their right to choose who they have at their concert, a Thai citizen performing in their own country, oh the ignominy of it all, shame on them.

How dare you comment on my comment.

It's a CHARITY concert . . . to raise money for children . . . it's not like they had a convicted murderer on stage singing, so yes, I do blame the "reds" once again.

Based on this, you still think there are going to be "free and fair" elections when the Democrat MP's start to campaign anywhere north of Bangkok? Give me a break . . . the reds will force that to stop also. <deleted> lying, cheating, violent, stupidly myopic hypocrites is what they all are.

Your wrong and I am right, just accept it and move on frog face.

Nice. I hope the needy students (kids of these red shirt supporters) will have something to say to their parents when they return from their little protest.

So your saying that red shirt democracy is ok?

Pongsit is from Nong Khai, an original singer and songwriter with over 25 years performing under his belt, is well known throughout the country.

It must hurt when a famous son of Issan despises the red shirts' thuggery.

It's better than what Suthep is offering.

If the guy is truely unwelcome, few will go to the concert, proving the point much more effectively than banning. However, if you're afraid he and his efforts will be welcomed by the community, banning may be the your only recourse.

Since has UDD stopped this charity event in it's tracks, I would expect to hear they've come up with alternate plan to fund these kids. Jatuporn, Nuttawut, Thida, anyone? Waiting . . .

You're kidding.

You say do what the criminals demand and all is well !

Reminds me on Germany after 1933 - leading to millions of killed humans.

If this is what happens when a supposed supporter of someone who opposes them goes there to help the needy children.

What will it be like when a candidate from an opposing party tries to campaign in the area.

Freedom of speech.

Freedom of assembly.

Free amd fair elections.

Yea for red democracy.

PDRC did exactly the same thing on Phuket because the singer was aligned to the reds. Tit for Tat.

To be fair, the red cross cancelled due to fear of violence and Phuket wasn't a charity event, mind you I don't know how much ends up for charity after everyone takes their cut. Also, they are also effecting their own being the stall holders that set up at all these events, especially if they forked out for perishable goods before the cancellation.

United Front for “Democracy against Dictatorship” –am I missing something here?

Can’t be long and the ThaiRouge start some serious book burnings to save the famous Thai culture from unhealthy influences. Suitable titles like “A definition of democracy” or “Free Speech for Dummies” come to mind.

Beat me to it, those who go on a anti red rant don't seem to hold the same views when their beloved leader gets his yellow mob to do the same.

Both sides show their selfishness by blocking charity events

Did notice the article talking about a charity event in Phuket, however assuming that what you say is true, no excuse for the PDRC in Phuket forcing the closure of a concert. Bad. I assume it was this year?

Very bad for the red shirts because they don't stop. I've lost track of how many performances by supposed PDRC supporters they have shut down. Each time they cannot recognize the wrong. Each time it seems as well that TV people think it's okay.

Well it's not okay to shoot someone because they disagree with you, whatever color shirt you wear.

It's not okay to beat someone because the believe differently than you, whatever color shirt you wear.

It's not okay for someone, supposedly a grown up, to say it's okay to force a concert to be cancelled because some red shirts don't like the performer.

Force and intimidation is just wrong.

The tit for tat argument is for 2 year olds.
