Actually it's not... many of the people protesting at the Phuket concert were against Sek Loso because of his recently disclosed drug habit and swearing at his detractors on Facebook.

If the guy is truely unwelcome, few will go to the concert, proving the point much more effectively than banning. However, if you're afraid he and his efforts will be welcomed by the community, banning may be the your only recourse.

To be fair, the red cross cancelled due to fear of violence and Phuket wasn't a charity event, mind you I don't know how much ends up for charity after everyone takes their cut. Also, they are also effecting their own being the stall holders that set up at all these events, especially if they forked out for perishable goods before the cancellation.
