Asian Beach Polo Championships in Hua Hin Raising Funds for the Kamlangai Project

Hua Hin beach:-- The fifth ‘Asian Beach Polo Championship InterContinental-B.Grimm’, Asia’s only beach polo tournament was held during a sunny day at the Hua Hin beachfront of InterContinental Resort Hua Hin.

Macau beat Hong Kong team with a score of 7-3 and won the Princess PA’s Cup. The game once again was hosted by Mr.Suwat Liptapanlop, former deputy prime minister and the advisory chairman of the organizing committee for Asian Beach Polo Championship and Mr.Harald Link, chairman of B.Grimm Group and president of Thailand Equestrian Federation, the first beach polo player in Thailand in his capacity as the organizing committee chairman for the Asian Beach Polo Championship.

The Event was to raise funds for the ‘Kamlangjai Project’ or Inspire by Princess PA, initiated by HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha to reach out to incarcerated women, including pregnant inmates and their babies.

All guests with good hearts including General Yuthasak Sasiprapha, M.R.Thiradej Rajani, M.L.Poonyanuch Kashemsanta, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Proudputh Liptapanlop, Viphavee Khoman, Matunart Sosothikul, Benyapa Svasti-Xuto, Nara Auapinyakul and many more were spotted on the beach cheering the exciting polo matches. Prior to the games, the Event started with a horse parade and the official opening ceremony.

Spectators saw how good the young Thai polo players were in the special Kids’ Polo match. The excitement started with the match for third place. The Thai Polo team lost to France with a score 1-3. The final match between Macau Polo VS Hong Kong Team saw the Macau team ictorious with a score of 7-3 to win title of Asian Beach Polo Champion this year.

The day concluded with a dinner party with a ‘Hua Hin Sweet Old Day’ theme at the hotel’s garden courtyard where guests enjoying shows which celebrated the Hua Hin charm of the 1920s.

Fund raising included the auction of three oil paintings by Hua Hin local artists. ‘Hua Hin Railway Station with a Royal waiting room’ was won by Nutthachai Srerungsukpinitt with the highest bid of 250,000 Baht. The second painting, ‘Khao Takiab’ was won by Hiram E. Manville at 200,000 Baht.

The last painting ‘HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha horse riding at Hua Hin’ was won by Harald Link at 400,000 Baht. The charity auction raised an additional of 850,000 Baht for charity. The auction of oil paintings was for a reallygood cause as funds will be going to the ‘Kamlangjai Project’.
