Hua Hin:-- The Hua Hin Women’s Club has celebrated it’s first anniversary with a determination to continue charity work, strengthen networks and help Hua Hin women fight against cancer.

The Chairperson of the Club, Ms. Lisa Ungheng told Hua Hin Today that the Club held a General Meeting on 15th February, when Members reported on their activities during the year.

This included granting scholarships to local students, donating bicycles to local schools, photocopiers to Hua Hin Police Station, computers to Hua Hin Provincial Court and 50,000 Baht cash to the Hua Hin Hospital.

Members actively participated in many festivals during the year.

This year, the Club will give added support women suffering from cancer at Hua Hin Hospital as well as Members who have this illness. Ms. Lisa said that the Club would continue to be active in 2014 with festive activities including Retro Hua Hin and a welcome party for the Tourism Business Association.

On 19th April, the Club hosted a Charity Gala Dinner at Anantara Resort and Spa to celebrate the Thai New Year or Songkran.

The event was well attended with all proceeds to be used for the Club’s charity work. Ms. Lisa added that the Club has been restructured and there are now over 100 members.

The strength of the Hua Hin Women’s Club is increasing and it now one of the foremost local charity clubs.
