Thai 'Red Shirts' warn of civil war if government falls

Lite Beer

Recommended Posts

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday ....1, 2, 3...... PTP GONE.

Wednesday ...Yingluck and Cabinet gone.

Thursday ......Yingluck double gone

Friday New Senate with more than 3/5 th majority

= PTP GONE.

The Senate is the only elected body left standing and therefore is in control of Thailand.

PTP must fade away or go to jail

You know perfectly well that the senate is not a fully "elected body" after the 2007 coup constitution. Which is why the Yellows are so fond of it.

That's because the system was so heavily abused by electoral fraud. If you really want to blame someone, try Thaksin.

That's because the election collection coming today has been bought and manipulated by Thaksin ways on advance...

I don't understand why the reds waited so long to start protesting in Bangkok. I mean, they waited until Suthep dismantled their government before they decoded to do something about it. So now they are.having a rally on the outskirts of Bangkok, which is going to achieve very little. I wonder if there is something going on behind the scene we're not privy to?

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Snipers.

As his numbers plummetted and his supporters abandoned him, the army then stepped in with 10k troops "to keep peace and order".

If army had not come to Bangkok, a smallish mob could easily have removed Suthep than way the Chiang Mai officials cleared the Interior Ministry. As it was, if they'd done that the army would come to his rescue.

This road has special significance, and has no tall buildings. Hence no snipers like 2010. The down side it the access, it's really difficult getting lots of people onto that site in short space of time. They build up over the evening to a peak at about 9m, and then 10pm - 1am they move off site.

Really, all they want is the photo not the confrontation.

If the access is so tight, don't you think they would be worried about helicopter gunships? Your analysis has some holes in it.

Oh and it has airforce provided toilet buses. As I said, I cannot explain the significance, either you understand or your don't.

Interesting. The most politically significant lavatories in history?

So Jatuporn is now officially threatening the security of the state by promising a civil war. Isn't it time for the army to step in and protect the state, as they are sworn to do?

Now is the time to revoke big mouth "Jabba" lock him in for good.

Tezza you're one of the most contradictive posters here you have frequently used the words majority, how do you come to that conclusion or does the wife tell you as it seems she spoon feeds you what she wants you to hear quite a lot wink.png

Now to my next point do you actually have a vote in Thailand ? If not don't speak on any other Thai that's not on your family's behalf as your views are not shared by tens of millions of Thais who WANT to vote according to their civil rights!!!

Stop jumping on peoples posts when your just as guilty !!

To be fair, I don't think English is his first language.

I feel reasonably safe that if it comes to armed opposition that Jatuporn is calling for the army will crush him.

In the mean time what kind of mental health facilities are available here in Thailand. It certainly is time for some one to step in with a net and haul Jatuporn off to one.

Or do like I saw on Asia News in Bali the family just chains him to some thing so he can not leave the room.

It just is not going to happen, just because the police are so corrupt and inept does not mean that law and order cannot be enforced once the decision makers decide to act. Its a lot a bravado but 5 days on, shin no 4 kicked out and the reds are floundering around. The military have a long and successful history of cracking down ruthlessly when required.

All of this was predicted months ago... It has not been good for the country to have dragged this out so long.. The country needs political parties who govern for the good of the majority and nation, not for the scum in the shin clan who have asset stripped and amassed vast personal wealth for all of them, even the kids at the expense of all thais and foreigners for that matter.

many more red shirts than expected - be careful what you wish for

How many were expected?

They promised 1 million. Last time, they promised 500,000. It looks like they might top out around 25-30 thousand.

Plus all the fotoshopped red shirts.

1.25km is the length of the road from the stage to the park. It's not the full road length, it doesn't cover the east section of this road. The photos do cover the section of road.

attachicon.giflength-of-aksa.jpg

I made it 2.6 x 500m minus a bit for the stage, say 50m, = 1.25km.

Hence 1.25km * 25+20 *4 = 225000

Okay, I'll give you credit for your honesty. The map is an accurate portrayal of the road. I'll even give some credit to the UDDers this time. Apparently, they have let the left hand service road remain more or less open--so people can get into their moobahns. They blocked them from their homes last time. But that also means the crowd is not as wide across the road as last time.

I'm wealthy, I'm old, I should be 'elite' or 'democrat', and yet I voted for PT. They have popular policies that spread the wealth, and expand the economy

Being wealthy and old...... but did you grow wise along the path? Spread the wealth my anus.

Also I don't believe they got ten's of millions in the last vote.

I have yet to see any one other than the PTP red shirts saying there will be no elections.

So far Abhist has come up with a plan that will call for a vote and Suthep is proposing a plan that will come up with a vote.

Just not on the day Thaksin wants them.crazy.gif

I find it highly interesting that Suthep and Abhist both want to reform the government and the PTP red shirts do not want to.

What have they got against it. Are they afraid that they will be unable to function in an honest election and government?violin.gif

These repeated warnings of dire consequences from the red shirts have a whiff of desperation about them. They are in a corner and seem to know this. They have lost the battle of numbers because their core support is not motivated and seems divided. The momentum and the passion is with the other side. If the army took over tomorrow i doubt there would be much more than a few squeals. Time will tell i suppose.

Yes there supports are not motivated hehehehe no money since july as their rice is setting in government warehouses with no payment. No money no love kind of takes the luster off Yingluck

If it takes a civil war for the majority of the population to retain their civil rights then so be it.

The majority of the population do not want a civil war. Just a few nuts who are mostly on Thaksin's payroll.

The majority of the population want their democratic vote, after having it stripped from them.... again... Because they just won't vote in the 'correct' people, d@mn them. rolleyes.gif

Yes majority of people - that's why so few people turned out for the Feb election is the areas where they were not interrupted or blocked - even in Red areas. It is illegal not to vote here, yet such a low turn out - and how many of them "no votes" no one really knows!

The only thing to draw from this is that mass apathy for politics - and people think there will be even feeling for a civil war! yeah right!

You got it! But I think you understand much better that everyone else.

I loved it when "lanna" was going to break away, and after a short while they decided but hey, we too can share that same beloved institution.

Funny guy. The majority do not want war, but the facist movement led by the little faci suthep want war, and they will get it sooner than they expect, and more violent than they expect.

They tried that in 2010 but it didn`t go to well.

Having been in a country where there was a military takeover (where I lost relatives) and having lost civilian relatives in a civil war in another SE Asian country I must admit that I am not keen to lose anymore relatives. In both of these SE Asian countries civil rights have not been restored to the level that currently exist in Thailand. So please excuse me for not sharing your enthusiasm.

Having lived in a country where a world war was fought and millions died to protect freedoms so that you and I could travel, live and have freedom let me state that democracy has been FOUGHT for... yet they fight AGAINST it here

go figure...

This is a case where rich men send poor men's sons to fight and die for them to satisfy an insatiable greed for power and money. I don't personally know any Thai person who wants a war. But we do hear rhetoric from the extremists on both sides that is heading Thailand towards that end.

I hope there will be no civil war. Sadly it sounds like the red-shirts want one, based on the rhetoric of the red-shirts.

you see THIS is the problem - it's the 'red shirts' not the fake monk... Suthep and his thugs... it's those pesky 'red shirts'

you KNOW???... the ones who keep WINNING elections... terribly inconvenient to the yellow, elite ammart who want to keep raking in the cash
