I went off fairly early this morning to go see a cricket match! ... for first time in over forty years! facepalm.gif

But just as I (we) got there to see this, they had packed up, as they are a few stumps short of making up two teams ....

If anyone interested in joining in .... they need about 5 -6 more team members... Plus an umpire or even two!

It's played at the school near Fairhouse Resort, Maenam.... just the Bophut side of 75 Store to ward beach side. wink.png

Starts 7 am every Sunday ... (OMG!) blink.png

For more info, pop in a see Babu at India Hot Restaurant on Maenam Resort Road, or Dil, at Havelii Restaurant in Ban Rak ....

Most players are from Nepal or Bangladesh... but any nationality welcome! thumbsup.gif I am sure they are not up to Lords standards, but could be fun for some!

Chances are its a bumpy batting track so a fair chance of taking one in the knackers! Wouldn't advise this unless technically proficient with the bat. Above all, keep bat and pad togetherwink.png

I would imagine you provide your own protective equipment.... ^ .... that's small size is it .....tongue.png

How about a motor bike helmet at least for your head?

You might get one in the chops using that technique on a rough track

Not played in donkeys years though I did enjoy it. Couldn't bat for **** but I could bowl an endless number of full length balls on a good line. Unfortunately I had to give it up because my bowling action was doing my right knee in.

But then, I used to run up stairs, too. (Not at the same time . . .)

Erm - - India Hot restaurant - is that down the " Fairway" towards Mummy's Resort/restaurant?

Might go lob a samosa at Babu and see how he reacts . . .

Er no.... the other way! facepalm.gif isn't Fairways on way to Bophut ....?...blink.png

Go through the traffic lights in Maenam, (towards Nathon) ..... past Honda dealer and when you see the Samsung Bill board with foot ball players on it, turn right , just after that ..... Maenam Resort Road....sign for Gym and all kinds of other things....& Family Mart on corner....(or is it Mini Mart?blink.png ) head down about 50 or 60 metres and Babu's is on the right....

Tell him you want a cup of tea in Jim's special sized cup! ..... goes well with samosa thumbsup.gif

Go get involved.... not evolved.... opps "senior moment" .... tongue.pngbiggrin.png

yep that's the one Virt! amongst the many other signs.... on that corner...

I stopped by Babu's they have found a few new members,.... but more welcome.... thumbsup.gif
