hot under the roof, electric fan

Featured Replies

Years ago there were postings about how to remove the hot air under the roof.

Someone had a solution: A hose which is on the highest point of the roof (where the hot air is) on the beginning or end of the hose is strong fan that sucks in the hot air and blows it outside. That is turned on/off with a temperature sensor. (But I think time control would also work).

Where the hose goes outside it closes when there is no air pumped (so birds don't get the idea of building their home inside).

Anyone knows where I can buy such a set?

I don't know where to find anything like you mention but the standard approach seems to be to install a turbine ventilator near the apex of the roof that works by convection. These are readily available at most building supply places.

Another approach is to install solar-powered fans in the eaves.

yes I know these turbine ventilators, but they have in my specific case some big disadvantages.

While these suction with hose would just perfect fit in my case.....

Unfortunately I can't find the original topic anymore. Or the English name of these.
