Pattani bomb blast injures 7



PATTANI: -- A bomb exploded in a hospital's parking lot in Pattani's Khok Pho district on Thursday morning, damaging vehicles and injuring several people.

The bomb went off at about 9.30am at Khok Pho Hospital. Police and the bomb squad rushed to the scene and sealed off the parking area for fear there would be second bomb.

Seven people including two volunteers who were wounded in the blast were taken into the hospital for treatment.

PATTANI: -- A home-made bomb went off in the car park of Khok Pho district hospital in Pattani on Wednesday morning, wounding 10 people and damaged about 50 motorcycles.

The powerful bomb also set off a fire at the car park.

Khok Pho district police said the bomb, which exploded at about 9.30 a.m. was planted in a motorcycle.

Of the ten wounded, two were defence volunteers identified as Rohimi bin Sado and Muhamad Kali and a soldier.

Police and EOD were investigating and inspecting the area for possible hidden bombs.

The fire was later put out by fire engines.
