My wife tried to phone Immigration in Chiang Mai today (Friday 30 May 2014) Result= NOTHING... no ring tone, no recorded message!

Someone mentioned that the office was being relocated.

Any information would be appreciated.

Again, only second-hand. It's apparently moving out to the Government/ City Hall / Courts complex across from the prison.

Live in hope that they have moved,that place (if you can get parked)

is like the black hole of Calcutta at times.

I was there on Thursday morning. "Our" waiting room was still here !

But there was nobody on the left at the entrance near the fence ( it should be Burmese workers if I am not mistaken). I was thinking that maybe it was not open everyday.

Photocopy room was also almost empty, big cleaning. Something was going on, moving or cleaning or repainting, but I doubt the main immigration office moved from Thursday to Friday ;-)
