Went to the offices at Mae Hia at 10.05am, got Q number 91.

Currently serving number 90.Called, handed over insurance docs and car registration docs + cash as requested.

Received back docs and new tax disc, left the offices at 10.07am.

Probably the most efficient system I have come across anywhere let alone Thailand!

Seems like it will be quiet for ever more because no one can pass the driving test now.

That's a "1" in the air for the expats

Not only up there, went on Tuesday at Bang Yai, straight in and out so maybe 2 mins at 14:45... faster than last year which was about 5 mins

i found it quick too i had to wait for the bike test but after that it was mins and so easy.the one near the riverside apartments.

Except not having a DL won't stop anyone from driving.

I agree. Just done mine and could not believe and quick it was and how pleasant the guy behind the counter was. I think they could give lessons to other Govt. departments.

Well done Road Tax section!!!

I was at Mai Hai yesterday - I cant believe how easy the process was. It was busy when I was there but I was still under 10 minutes - wow fantastic.

They have this drive through, always closed, like McD not selling burgers anymore...

You can of course do it online. And get your tax disc in the post a few days later. As I did last month.

Actually I am not certain anyone can do it online but we certainly have access.

Did mine at Nog Hoi drive thru. Didn't have to get out of the car, didn't even have time for my customary nose picking session, something I do when waiting in the car for lights, ect.
