Rental Bike Stolen - are they insured?

Featured Replies

A mates rental bike got stolen, they say they want 46,000 baht.

I'm just wondering, would these not be insured?

.

Contract?

I don't think he has the contract... I'll ask him.

Not insured.. I think your mate is into trouble.. Depending if the bike was new and what kind of bike the price could be genuine.

Check back at the shop in a few weeks, I think you will find it has been mysteriously returned.

Normally no insurance on rental bikes.

Really, do vechicles not need insurance?

Traffic insurance is compulsory, but many rentals don't even have that. (check the sticker)

It only cover medical costs up to 15.000 baht.

Why do you sound surprised, is insurance against theft required in any country?

I'm not an insurance expert, so I don't know.

He will have to pay. Go to the police station; they will know what to do.

If your friend lost it, unless he actually signed on for some insurance, I think he has to pay for it.

If it was a scooter 46K sounds like the price for a new one. Find out how old it was, and from there you should be able to work out a fair second hand value.
