Swedish FM predicts 'British Isles Balkanization' after Scotland's independence

Apart from Scotland, it's unlikely that any further fragmentation will happen. Wales would probably vote no in a similar referendum, and Northern Ireland remains majority unionist and Cornwall's separatist movement barely exists.

Nice to see that Russia is taking an interest in Scotland, but what is Sweden's agenda in all this?

Well, it is no secret that Cameron has been trying to get support from across Europe for the No vote, so it should be no surprise that the 'Swedish David Cameron' should come to his aid so enthusiastically. He was certainly happy to pursue Julian Assange at Obama's order.

Correct - but the oil is only a bonus. According to the Office for National Statistics, Scotland has the best educated population in the World. An even greater drive on our education is the future.

What about the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Shetland, Angelsey, the Hebrides, even Yorkshire maybe ? ;)

The Isle of Man and Channel Islands are already not part of the UK..

Maybe the East End of London. It already feels like a different country.

They're part of the sterling area, and have HM The Queen as head of state, and I believe their residents use UK passports. The big difference is that they collect and disburse their own taxes -- not a bad model for Scotland ;)
