it is a nice shop over there. it is sure like a time tunnel. where i live which is old part of Bangkok, is full of these kind of shops.

nice to see you on Saturday, what a chance that shop is 1 km to my house! Sorry to leave you early as had an appointment.

You got the best option there yankee and the best color if you ask me. Yep none of them was in perfect situation but for bikes waiting for a decade, it is totally normal.

But my heart is with that small kawasaki magnum 80 cc liquid cooled 2t for 40 k thb. maybe one of the last ones in Thailand!

I will take a pic of the 400 they have. It looks something like this middle_1318240460.jpg but its not new and i didnt ask about it

that 400 cc was not two stroke i think, no?

and it is beyond recognition too!

The magnum is nice but that Victor S might be more desirable.

Looks like i]m in Hua Hin Tuesday and back to the shop in Bangkok Wednesday.

I'd take the KRR - better engine and produces more power. It does however look seriously dated and has a VERY low seat compared to the TZM which is essentially a full sized bike, in terms of ergonomics.

Actually the last years of the KRR are very beautiful, and not dated at all imho. Here's a pic:

That said, I also agree TZM is a full sized bike (this is the bike if you are tall). From owning a TZM and Honda NSR RR, I would say that the parts availability is pretty good for TZM. I don't know about Kawasaki though.

Looks good!

What needs doing before it can be ridden? Full service, change all fluids and tyres I suppose?

Hope the carb was drained of fule all those years ago......

^^^ Not sure if there was ever fuel in it. I am sure all fluids will need changing. The tires of course although they put a new battery and tested the lights

the book should be here this week coming

Wow.. 2 weeks .. that's quick!

Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

The book arrived friday which is a lot longer then i expected. The dealer was originally suppose to do it and i paid them to do it. Two and a half weeks ago they sent me the original paperwork and i had an agent in pattaya do it 1900 baht all in. So basically 2 1\2 weeks with the docs. Waiting to see if the dealer intends to refund my 1200 baht.

Congrats, it's got some good modifications: Tyga exhaust, stepkit, seat cowling, and a ( brembo?) brake improvement ( cailper/bracket)

If I may ask: how much did you pay for it??

Posted (edited)

Jealous! But with some work most of the mechanical mods could be done to a Phantom so I might start looking for a clean one!
