Here at The Pun Pun, we have a serving that is good for lunch or dinner. It has come to pass that folks come in and try it, and say they love it. Its called "Shan Noodles". It seems that it is something that every enjoys eating. So what we want to do is make a little SPECIAL out of it.

ShanNood28aug12-1.jpg

If you have a friend who has not tired this dish yet, but may like to, heres the deal I offer to you

The meal as pictured is priced at 95 Baht. If you and this friend come in, and both order the 'Shan Noodles', the first one dinner will be 95 Baht, and the second dinner is reduced to 50 Baht. So that would make it 145 Baht for the 2 servings...... and if you are ID'd as a TV Member , there will still be an additional 10% off. Offer is good thru the 30th of June.

PS. I know, I know...... we can do without comments for the world class photogs about the color of the tablecloth , the spoon, the lighting etc. Come and taste the food and let it speak for itself

Thank You

Gonzo

A wife says to her husband you're always pushing me around and talking

behind my back. He says what do you expect? You're in a wheel chair.

Say Gonzo, haven't you heard the crowd telling you to lose the blue spoon for the photo shoots? My mother, the one with the masters degree in food science (OK, they called it "Home Ec" back then) said that you never want to use the color blue in decorating a restaurant or a home kitchen. It isn't a color to encourage someone to eat. But what do I know? The food does look interesting, though.

Nancy, Thank you ever so much. You have cleared up something that has been a mystery for close to half a century. The girls in Home Ec were talking about colors and such...... Now I know why the boys in Vo Ag preferred the girls from Sex Ed.tongue.png

I had to use the blue spoon because when I used a white one, it didn't show up.... at least the spoon was clean ....

Looks good, but when I peddle all the way to Pun Pun, I am looking for something much less healthy. tongue.png

......and for UG and the any other health foodies out there....... ask for the 'Shan Noodles +'.

It comes with a little starter, as we try to westernize it a bit.

The good thing about The Pun Pun being on the river is that you can either peddle your way here, or for less traffic, you can paddle your way.

Thanks guys for the replys.

So Gonzo please tell, as there are several PunPuns....

Are you represetning the veggie collective whose breakfasts, lunches and dinners I used to enjoy so much...(you know, the one which used to have a place at Suan Dok and another place at the top end of Nimmanhaemin Rd) ...

Or are you representing a different PunPun?

More seriously..... click on the ad banner [Pun Pun] the yellow banner on the top of the CM Forum page and see a map for directions.

Gonzo, a genuine thanks for your reply, but I am still no clearer; I'd always thought the "real" PunPun was the veggie Thai organic farm/restaurant collective that had a place a few years ago at Suan Dok; I believe they now have a place a 100 metres or so opposite Orchid Hotel, nearish YMCA (or they did a few months ago) - is that you?

I know there is also a PunPun out on the Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai road, a small family affair and a very pleasant stop for coffee and a snack when I'm driving - but I'm guessing that's definitely not you.

ajarnsiam, Sorry for the confusing directions/map. Here is an easier to understand map, that should clear that up.

The name Pun Pun , which seems to be the flavor of the month [years] these days that I have and have had now for over 18 years , is on the river. By the Rama IX bridge.

The veggie one seemed to pop up over the past few years. To be very honest with you, I do not know why they chose the same name. It has done nothing but cause confusion for the past couple years. People take a tuk tuk ,come, get out and pay, then come into our place and find meat, and then understand they are at the wrong place. When tuk tuk drivers are told Pun Pun, the know us as this pun pun, The Pun Pun has been around for about 30 years , so of course its known.

Well anyway here is the map. I hope it is clear to you and look forward to your visiting our meatatarian Pun Pun.

Sorry for any confusion we may have caused.

You can say it all you want - but people will still 95% decide whether they want to visit your restaurant or not based on that photo alone.

The food looks tasty, ample and i luv eggs. I'll look for a one-meal friend and give the 'shan mian' a try. Or if need be come alone and talk Gonzo into 'one take away, my friend just had a bike wreck' story.

However, i don't like the new style chopsticks, those thin wooden round ones. Much prefer the older, disposable, fatter squarish ones i needed to pull apart before using. And i really dislike the plastic sticks. Ugh.

So you are across the river from town. I'll find it.

Well the times I was there I walked.

About like walking from Thai Pai Gate.

The thing I want to know is do I have to use the chop sticks on the Shan noodles?

Good map,but it took me a moment to get oriented. North is to the right on this map, west is towards the top.

... obviously Gonzo's been here too long ;);) as all maps should be presented with North 'up'. No wonder Thai's have no idea of direction 555

First let me say thank you to all those that came by for our Shan Noodle offer.

Second, let me apologize for not having enough of the noodles prepared . Just didn't anticipate that many folks would be interested.

Third.... Pranee has worked very hard making up a new batch and we would hope you , who didn't get Shan Noodles, please come and give it another shot.

Thanks all for your patronage and your patience.

Gonzo and Pranee
