Featured Replies

Does anyone know what they are going to build on that site? another hotel, or something else?

And Which ....old Marriott hotel site are we talking about? alt=wub.png>

well, i didnt know there was another, sorry, in Hua Hin (as this is the HH forum) , almost opp market village, was demolished last year, i passed it today and noticed that they seem to be building something on there now

Rumour has it that is will be another hotel chain, possibly Starwood or Le Meridian. BTW, the Hilton was sold to another chain recently.

Thanks for that, i am sure whatever it is it will be an improvement on the old place. The Hilton also is long overdue some money being spent on it, hopefuly thats what the new owners will do.

I heard it was going to be a massive 7-11, with a massive family mart being built 1 yard away, immediately after it opens.

Most of the branded hotels are actually only manged by the hotel chains and owned by local interests. It happens ever so often that a hotel changes management from one group to another.

Big money, you buy a hotel then knock it down, spend 2 years building a new one. That must be rented land. As for the Hilton, 20 years ago when it was the Melia hotel, I used to use the music lounge often prices were fair, now you only see guests heading out. If your a guest and want to play tennis its free, but if you would like to play with a racket in your hand its 300 baht. The rents in town now are very high and rising, so its all passed on to the customers.
