Holland/Netherlands Consul or Honorary Consul InPattaya?

Featured Replies

I've got an elderly Dutch national I know who is gravely ill and not long for this world. Does anyone know if there is a Dutch consular representitive in Pattaya? I have the contact info for the embassy in Bangkok and will call them too but just posting here to see if may get a response also.

There is no Dutch consul in Pattaya and the Embassy in Bangkok won't do anything with your information.

Only if you report a death will they make a note of it and pass the information on to the authorities in The Netherlands.

They may contact his family, if he has one, and if the family wish to do something for him, of course the embassy will not do this for free.

"of course the embassy will not do this for free"

Should not be "of course" but unfortunately most embassies (exceptions are there) don't give a fxxk

For most consular matters from Dutch embassy, Mr. Hofer, consul for Austria, may be able to take care.

The Austrian Consul only takes care of a few documents that are required by Thai officials.

As another poster stated, the Embassy won't do very much until the death is a fact.

But as far as i can gather, they may give you some advise on how to deal with it.
