Family Holiday In Koh Phangan In October

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am trying to decide whether to choose Krabi or Ko Phangnan for holiday in October (2 weeks).

I have 3 questions:

1. What is the weather like in October in Koh Phangan? (we went to Phuket last October and there was a bit of rain but it was still warm)

2. There will be 4 of us - where would anyone recommend to stay? We would like somewhere that is maybe a villa or bungalow that houses 4 people (or 2 x 2). We would like somewhere that is near to restaurants. (last year we rented a bungalow in Phuket - about 1,700 baht/night)

3. Which part of Koh Phangan would you recommend for family but still lively? (We will not be there for the Full Moon Party).

Thanks so much anyone who can help me

leanne

Leanne, october is the start of the rainy season. You may get rain, may not. November is, typically, the rainiest month of the year. However, be aware that Thailand is currently being affected by the La Nina weather pattern which usually means heavier rains than usual so you may just get rain wherever you go. And just to let you know, its always warm :o

The west side of the island, is probably the best for you. The Srithanu or Haad Yao areas are both fairly built up but tend to be more family oriented.
