Hockey in Chiang Mai (Come play!)

Featured Replies

We play ball hockey every Monday (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM) and Thursday (7 PM - 9 PM). Come join us if you are interested. Sticks are provided, no equipment is needed other than running shoes. We play on a futsal surface (similar to basketball).

The play is competitive but anyone is welcome. We're a group of friendly expats.

Here's the location: MAP

You can join our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/474711125890763/

If you are coming by taxi, tell them "Sibsongpanna Khantoke". They should hopefully know it. Where we play is right beside that called "Futsal Heaven". If you can't find it or have any questions feel free to contact me for more info.

Sounds like a good time, I wish you success. Unfortunately I'm an old guy with bad knees or I would be there.

Senior citizen also!

Played for the FAA (Royal Navy) and then Loughborough College back in the day.

Way back in the day!

Fond memories, enjoy your game.

Don't let age be an excuse. I'm 60 and play with the guys regularly twice weekly. It's a great workout!! I'm back in Canada now and hate to be missing it for a few months.

This is a fantastic idea, and too bad i didn't know about this during my last 6-month visit. Hockey is one of the best "escape" plans.....on the bike, running, swimming, walking, you can think.......hockey, like mountain biking downhill, you must focus a lot and your mind becomes clear. if you have never played, check this out. if your dominant hand is right, first try a left-handed stick; however, if that feels uncomfortable and you enjoy slap shots....well, try right-handed. i play both, not great, and found playing left-handed keeps my head up to avoid unnecessary collisions. anyhow, i wrote all this just to give a bump to the thread.

+1

I have transferred my exaggerated swing to the golf course, most definitely unorthodox,a little more sedate and carrying a few more years than 60!

But you're super-human Steve, winning battles regularly against us young guns.

New players needed! We're losing a few regulars in the next couple of months and need more players. Everyone welcome. We play Monday and Thursday evenings on a well lit 'soft' surface futsal court. Curious? come out and watch, we play just off Canal Rd., south of Suthep Rd. Near Wat Umong. See the first post for more info.
