2,381 arrested for betting

BANGKOK: -- So far, 2,381 people have been arrested for betting on soccer and police have closed 821 of the 1,158 suspected gambling sites, authorities announced yesterday.

The suspects nabbed included 177 bookies and 69 bookie subordinates as well as 2,133 punters.

Police have also impounded 3,505 slot machines worth Bt105 million across the country.

When will the military crackdown on Thai prostitution?

just as soon as they liquidate their asssets in the business ...

They cant crackdown on prostitution. This is how most from the north survive and where half their tourist cum for. Does anyone really think so many tourist come for cheap beer, beautiful beaches and temples?
