Thanks for the tip, I'll stick in my GPS and cycle over there this week!

I may try to get there this weekend as well. If I could find the place I'll give more details how to get there include photo.

OK, so you found a bike to look at, now what?

1.  check to see if chain in worn out.  12 link pairs. measure. a new chain will be 12 inches

more than 12 and 1/8 inch new chain and cassette.
12 and 1/16 inch new chain.

2.  see if the cassette or chain rings look like shark teeth.  they can be pricey to replace

3.  grab crank arms and twist a little bit to see if any play.  checking bottom bracket

4.  spin wheels to see if true

5.  look at brake pads to see if life left

6.  grab front brake, move front wheel 35 degrees or so and lock brake.  rock bike forward...see if there is play in front headset.

7.  look for cracks if carbon or rust if steel or dents if aluminum

if not looking to be bike superstar, i think 14,000 baht is good for a bike that won't collapse in a few weeks and give major headaches eventually.  even NEW horrible components will really be a disaster, no fun to ride.

if looking to be bike superstar, 40,000 baht is probably necessary for nice used in CM

once you go low, say under 10,000 baht...then try to get steel, tons of spokes, heavy as all get out.......
