As mentioned in my local Phuket forum, I managed to 'blow myself up' when installing a new gas stove, (the shop had omitted to connect the gas rings inside the cooker body - I connected up the external gas pipe correctly, when I opened the gas supply the cooker body filled up with gas and then BOOM!).

I suffered second degree burns to my lips, nose, ear, neck, toes and a serious second degree burn on my right lower leg.

I visited the hospital for daily wound cleaning/dressing and all of my burns are recovering.

However, is there anything that I can do to minimize the likelihood of scarring on my leg? The burn area stretches from just below my knee down to my ankle, and about 10cm width across the front/shin area.

Apart from applying burn cream, my ex has been applying a local medication - the jelly-like clear sap from a spiky-leaved plant called something like 'wahn ? jallakay', which means sweet ? crocodile'. That jelly really seems to have helped and I wonder if anyone knows what the plant might be.

Aloe Vera comes from the spiky plant

You can also try a medicine from the pharmacy called

"Herodoid" good for reducing scars.

Of course - Aloa Vera. It certainly seems to be aiding my quick recovery.

Now to plot my revenge on the gas cooker shop angry.gif
