Where can I find one? I stopped by a local shop on Phahon, full of dozens upon dozens of Seiko models, all of them with the usual Arabic numerals.

You might try the main Seiko office on Petchburi Road. I don't know their exact address but if you Google Seiko Bangkok you will be able to find it.

It is difficult enough to find a wall clock with Thai numerals let alone a wrist watch.

The guys on the night bazaar will make you a genuine Seiko with Thai numerals.

Now that I think about it, I agree with that article, I think most of the examples of watches with alternate number systems do look kitschy. Maybe I'll just give up the idea altogether.

I ended up buying one with the King on the face it in Tesco for 199 baht. The only other one i found was in JJ Market and the bloke wanted 1500 baht for it - i suspect he was ofering it at the falung discount price.
