People who want visums mostly apply for them at the Thai Embassy or Consulate in their home country or pay a visit to an office of the Immigration Police in Thailand for information

Also the connection with Chiang Rai I fail to see.

I didn't see it like this or anything wrong with the post... after all, a prospective employer who would get a work permit for a foreign employee normally has to issue a letter of offer stating that they wish to employ the foreign employee to support a Non Immigrant B visa application.

I wanted to know more about the position being offered.

but this is indeed "thai visa" and many of us would like to improve our legal position (if possible).
