Back and with sincerest apologies to those who we had to tell we were out of Shan Noodles a couple weeks ago.

I knew I liked this meal, but didn't allow for so many others liking it also. Consequently we ran out of noodles. Then the temple booth for the holidays and finally my Pranee got the chance to whip up another ton or two of her famous noodles. Now I think we have a sufficient amount so I would like to re-offer the special we previously ran

ShanNood28aug12-1.jpg

Special for two..... you and a friend..... this time it does not have to be someone that had never been to The Pun Pun before. Just long as they are noodle lovers.

Buy the first Shan Noodles at the normal 95 Baht then the second Shan Noodle meal is yours for only 50 Baht.

.... and remember please...... ID your self and give your TV Member Nic and you will receive 10% off your total bill....

This offer is good from the present time til the close of business on Saturday the 26th of July.

Remember its The Pun Pun on the river. The one where you can get MEAT to eat.. Click on our banner at the page top of the CM Forum ad for directions or post request for directions if you cannot understand.

..... and again my apologies for those who we were not able to serve earlier.

Thanks

A wife says to her husband you're always pushing me around and talking

behind my back. He says what do you expect? You're in a wheel chair.

Wow that looks really nice!

For those of us (me), who aren't familiar with this dish, what makes it so tasty? and what's the red sauce?

The red sauce is just something to go with the white plate and blue spoon. Gonzo is very patriotic.

Now that is good enough to be a Pun Pun, pun tongue.png

....and for the next Pun Pun pun check the next reply....

Thanks for the inquiry "krisb" the following is something I could not have answered to any of the thousands of other TV members, only you.

You asked what makes it so tasty??? Well I truthfully must say partially " YOU" krisb

The noodles are homemade egg noodles, there is seasoned pork slices, the sauce , while tangy is not overly spicey, and the "you" part is under the sauce are deep fried noodles . They can only be called ....... [ hows this for a Pun Pun , pun ] "KRISB" .... get it they are crispy.....

The soup is pork broth with kris-b noodles and green onion tops, the cole slaw is what we call Shan Cole Slaw. I thought we had good cole slaw, but this cole slaw is something else.

Nothing in there that is overly spicey.

Thanks again

So are you saying they should be officially named

'Phad Krisb' noodles? :D

Now that would be a real honour indeed!

I shall be heading to CM with the family next trip and will be heading around for a nice plate of those delicious looking home made noodles!

That may possibly be named after me!

I thought you were slipping in your presentation when I could not spy the blue fork but then I saw its substitute! The Blue spoon delicately poised over the bowl. Nice touch Gonzo.

You never disapoint!

We had some a couple of weeks ago and they were scrummy. Not spicy, but nice and tasty. Perfect with crunchy onion rings.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

As the saying goes, 'when the blue spoon at Pun Pun vanishes, so does Chiang Mai' xsad.png.pagespeed.ic.5zxzyGiJz0.png

For the sake of both the Pun Pun and Chiang Mai lets hope Gonzo keeps stirring that blue spoon.

Lets hear it for both!

There are advantages to growing older...... one is that your hands start shaking so much you don't need the spoon to stir your coffee. Down side is , stay far away from hot liquids......

Going to try something this morning and that is frying the noodles into a flat pancake entity, seasoning with stuff, adding bacon bits, covering with strips of cheese , and topping it with an egg. Now that ought to gag a maggot...... but might actually taste pretty good. If my nightmare comes about I will try and post a photo..

One of the latest food crazes in the U.S. is the "ramen burger" or "spaghetti burger".....the meat is served inside of two cooked, flattened disks of noodles.
