Pattaya Officers Raid Pub Again After It Was Ordered To Close For 30 Days

PATTAYA:--PATTAYA – July 19, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 04.00 am Mr.Prapan Pratumchompoo-deputy chief of security department of Bang lamung district-, administrative officers and police officers from Pattaya police station raided and inspected The Winner pub and karaoke. Mr Sakchai Tang-Ho-chief district of Bang Lamung- had inspected the pub on 5th July and he ordered the pub to close for 30 days but the operator had opened it again before the 30 days had expired.

Upon inspecting the pub they found 100 Thais therefore the officers told the DJ to stop the music and turned the lights on. Some tried to flee the scene but the officers had surrounded the pub and there was no escape. Also the officers found some revellers who had no ID card and 3 teenagers who were under 20.

I know that, but thanks for the reminder. We don't want to upset all the greed and gusto some have when they announce they are a "bar owner" when in fact as you point out, they simply got a lease or have their money in their "girlfriends" name and will lose it at some point. But hey, the drinks are free in the meantime and they will be admired for being in the club of "bar owners" admired by so many unknowing souls who visit.

Obviously the owner thought that a 30 day closure order meant paying double triple tea money, what he did not realise the person he was paying was removed from office a few weeks ago during the infamous 90 minute visit by the RTN.

Farang's aren't allowed to own real property in Thailand. The leases for "bars" are suspect at the least, most likely of no real value in terms of money. You pay for permission to operate. It's really a rather simple concept to understand. You pay but you don't own anything. Keep in mind the types of people we refer to and you have your context.

This isn't the real estate section mate. Fact remains, the farang in the "bar" and prostitution business doesn't own anything including the revenues you mention above. Visit your local jail in Angeles City and catch us up on the Human Trafficking laws as applied to foreigners "owning" bars in these third world countries with their tip toe prostitution angles which have finally been exposed and then we'll see who stands up and calls himself the "bar owner".

I am a farang bar owner and I have got the visa to prove it.

There is no such thing as a "bar owner" visa. You can tell the judge all that stuff, no point in deceiving possible "investors" on here. There are plenty of people who will tell others they can "own" a bar. Fact remains, only Thai people can own. I don't care, I don't drink. I just find the sales efforts of real estate and bars an utter and sick joke on many. Life savings down the clogged drain of some "bar" in Pattaya.
