A poster in the 90Day posts has mentioned that an immigration offical has said that the department will now handle renewals up to 45 days in advance...it has always been 30 days.

Can anyone confirm this change?

It makes a difference when I try to book an appointment for my "retirement" renewal.

Well...after a couple of days ,not a bit of follow up,not even the original poster.

Can anyone confirm or deny the 30 or 45 day period?

I would like to know too as it makes a big difference as spots are becoming like hen's teeth and I guess Agents are booking blocks of times.

Would not a call to the Immigration office be sensible , wouldn't have to wait days for an answer.

Yes BUT immigration people often give different replies dont they...a number of forum replies is...maybe... more accurate.

Possibly true, but they ARE the ones who will give you the renewal, not unfortunately the many also different, maybe moreso than you would get from TV posters...... What I find almost impossible to understand is why you think not immigration and yes to TV posters

Well then,it is not beyond belief that someone has tried the 45 day route and either been successful or denied

I have noticed how all the replies on Thai Visa are the same.cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifVery informative. Not that it really matters. clap2.gif

They are still only going to do 10 to 15% of them a day by appointment.

Now if they would make more time slots available that would be news worthy.

I think that was my original post... Geez if you would had quoted and linked me to your inquiry perhaps I would see a notification and replied back.... Or you could PM me....

Anyway, the 45 days is what I was told a few weeks ago when I did my 90 day reporting. Just last week I renewed my extension and I asked this to the officer that did my extension and she said it's not 45 days but 30. Doesn't surprise me as you get a different answer each day or depends on who answers.

It wasn't my retraction it was Immigration's..... Or should I say it the same as usual (if you've been here long enough), it changes depends on who you ask and when you ask...... So you may want to question, 'Is 30 days correct?'
