Phetchaburi Decent Cheap Guesthouse

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can recommend a decent guesthouse here that's not too expensive? need 3 rooms.

Also driving to don muang at 9am would anyone have any idea about the real travel time as the Internet times were way out on travel time to kanchanaburi

we are currently in prachuap and need to catch a flight so wanted a stop off somewhere that isn't more than a couple of hours to don muang. doesn't necessarily need to be phetchaburi

many thanks

A little closer to Bangkok is Amphawa. If you are coming up during the week then it is quiet. Forget it on the week-end. Do a search on ThaiVisa Hotels (booking.com) and see what comes up. It will probably be nicer than a cheap guesthouse in Petchaburi.

will do thanks can you recommend any?

Sorry cant recommend any guest house, have done Cha Am to BKK many time's. It's a case of how long Etc I have done it from D/M in just over 2 1/2 hours and other time's well over 4 1/2 and that has been during the week and at weekend's it doesn't seem to matter what time either you just have to be lucky traffic wise.

As suggested better to stop a bit closer to BKK but what ever you decide allow plenty of time for your journey.

Bit of a bummer to get there early even bigger one to arrive late a miss your flight.

Google '2N Guesthouse' that is fairly new and has nice rooms.

The main one in Phetchaburi town centre is the Rabieng, very cheap but not the greatest of rooms.

A bit more upmarket and probably the nicest place in town is the Swiss Palazzo, which has a very nice restaurant downstairs and very nice rooms upstairs.
