I believe you can get some useless product once you've saved up enough of them.

You can use them to buy any product at any 7/11 store. You don't need to save up a minimum number.

How can you spend 3000 baht per month in a 7/11 when the majority of the stuff is total rubbish?

We live a reasonable distance from the town and the 7/11s are conveniently located to us. I smoke, spend about 2000 baht a month on cigs, that`s one pack a day, like the occasional beer, the 7/11 sausages, soft drinks, ice cream and so on. My wife enjoys the yogurts, one a day plus I buy most of our bread, bottles of milk, breakfast cereals, eggs, coffee, tea, biscuits, chocolate and crisps from there also. Now thinking about it I probably spend more than 3000 baht per month at the 7/11s, it soon adds up. All the rest of our main shopping we buy once a week from the big local markets. In all our shopping bill for me and er indoors comes to about 15000 baht per month, 250 baht per day each for our food and drinks, not including my fags, plus another 3000 baht per month to feed all our cats and dogs, because our pets are fed decent food and not tinned pet food or the dry stuff. We also have to have food and drink here available for when the kids come home also. Oh, and forgot to mention our drinking water, that`s another 200 baht per month for us and our pets. We consider that what is not good enough for us to eat and drink is also not good enough for our pets either.. We buy all our dog meat and veg for our cats and dogs from the local markets along with our main food products, so in total that adds up to approx 18000 baht per month shopping bill for the family and our pets.

Alcohol and tobacco do not fetch any stamps. It is against the law? I am always happy to leave the stamps behind for the counter girls.

By the time you get your change (invariably it turns out to include half a kilo of coins), your receipt, the cards, and have to handle your wallet and the bag/s of things you purchased, you need three hands to do it comfortably.

Not getting the cards is a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

when i go to 7/11 for my shoplifting needs , they never give me any stamps either , is there any where or any body i can complane to as you keep saying it all adds up ...... MODS , PLEASE I,M ONLY JOKING ......

Let's say she does 10 customers a days, that's about 100 baht. Do you know what hours those girls work and how much they get paid? They've also more than likely decided not to go in the game. You then go to see their manager who is well aware of the penny stamp scam and tell him they tried to do you out of 18 UK pence.

Because they earn about $1.50 an hour, do 12 hour shifts, and are mostly kids. So give them a break.

Why not go back day time and speak with manager or owner?

Stealing is a big problem in Thailand, staff will not get fired as the excuse would be "forgot " with a silly grin, but staff would be watched

Change starts with one person in my book.

Op. Just go and get a poster made detailing your grievance in both Thai and English and mount an all out vigil until they (7/11) meet your demands!

I think the OP has a right to complain, I hate getting deliberately ripped off by anyone. I counted my change on the skytrain, and the guy short changed me by ten baht, this happened on two more occasions, always by a guy, the third time I demanded my ten Baht, the guy just shrugged his shoulders, I told him "I am not moving till you give me my ten baht", he then gave me it.

All these ten bahts mount up to quite a bit in Thai terms at the end of his shift.

OP... This is all computerized now... When ever you buy stuff , it will show on the display not just total amount of money owed but also the total number of stamps you should get.

The employees do not calculate this on their own.

Did you look at the the screen? As for the current promotion, they have stamps worth 1 and stamps worth 3..

Will show on the display the number of 1 valued stamps and the number of 3 valued stamps you should receive...

Before getting upset at the person behind the counter , you should check this out...

As if the amount on the display is not correct, the clerk can not give you another amount and they are NOT stealing from you

If the display shows she should give you 3 x 3 stamps and she tries to give you something else.. Just point to the display and tell to give you why it shows
