just because I am outraged by the killing of innocent women and children whereas you others that think like you believe the circumstances justify these outrageous actions    doesn't mean I “ have an agenda “.blink.png

These Israeli actions are a disgrace to the human race. And those that support these actions are also a disgrace. For such a "developed country" they sure do act like a pack of backward pack animals. All prayers to the deceased in these attacks and to the oppressed Palestinians.

..better be a 'disgrace' than dead.
Indeed. It is also very revealing how sundry one issue activists are frothing at the mouth with carefully choreographed outrage yet were completely absent as 200,000 were killed in Syria, tens of thousands were murdered by jihadis in Nigeria, over a million in North Sudan and ISIS slaughters Christians in Iraq whilst carrying out compulsory FGM on the women there.

But no an apparent stray Israeli shell fired at terrorists using UN facilities as a human shield is far more important in the grand scheme of things.

If this kidnapped soldier who was abducted 2 hours into a 72hour truce isn't returned alive, it could mean the flattening of Gaza.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today blamed Hamas for violating a 72-hour ceasefire in Gaza as U.S. President Barack Obama demanded the immediate release of a 'kidnapped' Israeli soldier.

The humanitarian ceasefire, brokered by the United States and the United Nations in a bid to end the deadly 25-day conflict, was supposed to take effect at 8am (6am GMT) today.

But less than two hours after it began, it collapsed into a new wave of bloodshed when an Israeli soldier was reportedly captured by the militant group Hamas.

Now, Ban has condemned Hamas for allegedly violating the ceasefire in a 'grave' move that 'is likely to have very serious consequences for the people of Gaza, Israel and beyond'.

Nothing short of a 200km high curtain which penetrates deep into the earth is going to stop this fighting.

As a person with absolutely NO AGENDA here, I can say this is purely gut wrenching to watch.

I'd like to take leaders in from all sides and force them to negotiate a peaceful solution, at this rate, the future is looking very bleek indeed.

The answers are not clear despite all the knowitall arguments on this forum.

For the most part, I get where you're coming from. This is as bad as it's been in this conflict in a long time. I also think there is a general consensus on BOTH sides that a two state solution will NEVER happen, too late for that, so that leaves the question ... how to solve this at all without endless bloodshed and nobody knows.

Indiscriminate mass murder of women and children by the Israelis. Not for the first time.

Yes, Hamas have bloody hands too but the Israeli leadership should be on trial in The Hague for genocide. They have become like the Nazis, without conscience or humanity..

That's really original. Israel are the same as Nazis. Join the club!

Looks like the missing Israeli soldier may have become "collateral damage"

In a statement early on Saturday, the Qassam Brigades said it lost contact with a group of fighters in the area where the soldier went missing, saying: "We believe they were all killed in the [Israeli] bombardment.

Israel has inflicted a series of disproportionate attacks on a besieged ghetto with way too many victims .
What would happen if the number of deaths were switched?

Anyone who talks about "ethnic cleansing" in relation to the Palestinians is either stupid or a liar. They would be long gone, if Israel wanted it so. Brian Eno turned out some decent music long ago, but he seems to be very ignorant when it comes to the conflict in Gaza.

Brian Eno visited Israel, and was shown around by a professional Palestinian guide, and Oren Jacobovitch, an Israel Jew, and ex major from the IDF.

Eno's well written open letter details the awful conditions Palestinians live under every day at the hands of Israeli Jews.

This is what Israel's supporters do not want you to know, hence UG trashing of Brian Eno.

Here again is a link to Brian Eno's open letter.

He mentions ethnic cleansing, so if that were true how come there are not more dead on the Palestinian side. I think I am also safe in saying that I and others (as a supporter of Israel) that it is truly sad what is happening in Gaza, to the Palestinians. But If Israel is to be blamed for this then maybe it is also fair that Hamas are equally to blame.

Not quite sure what you mean "Israel's supporters do not want you to know", means? I am not aware of any cover up that some how Israel is guarding a dark secret?

Maybe time to listen to the silent majority on both sides rather than the loud fanatics

A US State Department poll suggests that 78 percent of Palestinians and 74 percent of Israelis believe a peace agreement that leads to both states living side by side as good neighbors is “essential or desirable”

What incredible chutzpah... Israel controls all the land, sea, and air routes into Gaza under an illegal blockade stifling all economic growth, and periodically bombs the Gazans into further poverty as collective punishment. Then spins the blame onto the victims.

And the hamas leadership got rich by taking money away from Palestinians and making their life better. To dig tunnels and buy rockets. While they live the hight life in Qatar. Hamas even levy a tax on all good smuggled through the tunnels. So they are milking the situation for their own benefit.

The chutzpah is on Hamas.

Following this twisted and inhumane logic, there was no ethnic cleansing of the Jews, and no Holocaust, because the world still has a viable number of Jews.

Its part of the standard Misinformation Package that Zionist Apologists are trained to regurgitate.

Well if the USA has problems with tunnels from Mexico and the have the high tech explosives they sell or should I say give to Israel maybe they should use the Netanyahu technique and blast the civilians in Mexico to smithereens!

If the IDF believe there are Hammas terrorists hiding in a building why not send the army in to collect them instead of liquidating innocent civilians with 21st century high tech missiles?

Again, in case it was hard to understand - blowing up tunnels is not that big a deal. locating them is. The USA issues with

tunnels are somewhat different, the Mexico border being much longer and nowhere near the population density of the Gaza

Strip. Not too much chances of blowing Mexican civilians to smithereens, but don't let that spoil it for you.

Because the IDF, like most armies places a certain value on the lives of its own soldiers as well, and does not send them

on suicide missions. How would things be different for the civilians if they were caught in the midst of a firefight? Got to love

the "collect them" - do you imagine its something like "come along with me, sir"?

Israel aims to minimise troop casualties

MODERN weaponry, such as that used by Israel in the Gaza conflict, causes fewer civilian casualties in the close-in battle, but not the greater distance battle, says a top US military expert.

Former assistant secretary of defence for international security affairs Bing West, today an author on war-fighting and counterinsurgency, told The Weekend Australian that “artillery is a distant weapon, and Israel has fired over 30,000 shells. In the April 2004 invasion of Fallujah, the US Marines did not fire one artillery shell.”

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/israel-aims-to-minimise-troop-casualties/story-e6frg6so-1227010701010#

In the print version he went on to say the Marines lost 29 dead in house clearing operations during the battle. I guess the IDF only deploys regular forces for close in combat?

Not sure that I understood your question (and seems like the full article is PTR) - There are ground troops, and there is

shelling, one does not exclude the other. Different missions, different tools.

As far as I recall casualties were way higher that that in either Fallujah battle, so again, not sure if this is a misunderstanding

on my part or lack of full article is to blame:

"Genocide Is Permissible" Muses Times Of Israel, Promptly Retracts

It wasn't an editorial peace, but a blog column. And it was removed.

Perhaps the latter part of the above represents reality a wee better?

Even though the article was taken down, comments about the piece remain. Many Jews were among those slamming the blog post.

“I just want to apologize for this stupidity. Genocide is NEVER ok and this kid is a dumba--, the fact that it was published was just shameful, and i seriously hope someone got fired,” wrote Chava Weisberg, a self-described “Jewish Zionist.” “Seriously, just like not all arabs are hamas, not all jews (or zionists) [sic] are genocide advocating twerps.”

interesting to know how Times Of Israel really feels

Actually it is from a blog, by one guy. rolleyes.gif If he had used a different title and skipped the last sentence, it would have been a really good article that would not have caused controversy.

http://mondoweiss.net/2014/08/yochanan-genocide-permissible.html

what I   don't understand is if what the Germans did to the 'Jewish People' was such an unforgivable crime, how is it when the very same same thing is being done right now the to the Palestinians it's justifiable because Jewish people have the right to exist???!!!blink.png

How is it the same?

And would you then, characterize any armed force in the world which causes civilian casualties as being the same as the

Nazis? Would make quite a long list, and Israel wouldn't even be at the forefront.

Saying that the carnage in Gaza Strip is not the same as what the Nazis did, is not quite the same as denying it happens,

or denying that it is terrible.
