Airline strands 300 Chinese tourists at Phuket Airport

Free visas for Chinese: it seems TAT prefers poor tourists in group tours who spend as little as possible and cannot go home because transported by an unreliable chinese airline. At the same time, farangs are prohibited to do visa runs and must spend their money outside of Thailand. I am sure this will have very good results for the tourist income of Thailand.

GET OVER IT. there is a big difference between someone stranded and someone trying to stay as long as possible in a foreign country to the point of subverting Visas.

I cannot see wha all the fuss is about free visas for Chinese.  They are not eligable for the 30 day visa exempt entries that most genuine tourists can get.  All that has happened is that they do not have to pay for the (15 day??) visa on arrival or from a embassy/consulate in China.  A good move to promote tourism.

The real issue is airline safety.  This company should go the way of Phuket Airways. That was banned all over at one time.
