Can you use printed copies of translated documents for visa application?

Featured Replies

I have submitted documents for my childs first uk passport and also want to submit a settlement visa for my thai wife within the next two weeks. However my original translations of documents required for my childs passport will be sent to Liverpool and it may be around 2 months until i get them back. In these circumstances would it be ok to use printed copies of the translated documents that i will need for my wife's visa? I can explain this in the applcation.

Thanks in advance...

UKVI prefer original documents as copies can easily be altered; but as you will be submitting the Thai originals as well, the copy translations can be checked against those.

You can either do as you suggest, explaining where the originals are, or you can get new translations done.

Personally, I'd go for the latter.
