Google Earth Update

Featured Replies

Perhaps it's already been noted on the forum, but I just become aware that most of Phuket seems to have been updated.

Imagery date is 17/2/2014.

It also seems much clearer than earlier versions.

It has a time feature now too. You can go back to 2004 or up to present day.

Brilliant, thanks for the info.

The street level is not the same as birds eye view yet

Yes, it was updated a few weeks ago. Now we have a fully built Central, the underpass fiasco is now there for all to see and Panason is nearly complete.

Some parts appear not updated yet.

Have checked both Earth and Maps but do not seem to have much luck finding a location and image resolution does not appear all that great in Earth view for area I am looking. But street views seem to be quite good. Maybe this is a not yet updated area?

Anyone have a grid or Google location for Moo 6, Soi 3, Dusit Buri, Ratsada, in Phuket city? Google does not find anything below Ratsada for me.

vpike.com uses the Google Earth engine for it's web page based presentation, so it'll be updated too - Yay!!!

for actual Google Earth users' sake, I hope the 'time' feature has sorted out the time-of-day glitches that hit over a year ago. I was stuck with viewing everything as a night-time image, and couldn't ever revert to daytime view.

Ended up dumping Google Earth for the simpler vPike, which, aside from the laptop- even works on a webphone, without any of the need for downloading any programme...
