On occasion, I like to bitch about rural-life in Thailand. It can be somewhat challenging. If asked to make a list of the things that bother me, it would become a 2 hour job. But I am in luck. Every time rural Thailand get's to much, I can always visit the places where the night get's lit up by plenty of neon lights. Usually I combine those visits, when old acquaintances come to Thailand on holiday.

Mostly stressed out folks going by a strict timetable as to what to do in Thailand within a limited time-frame and complaining of how many years they still have to take part of the "rat-race" before they can have the "good-life" in Thailand.

Usually after 3 to 4 days I have seen enough neon-lights and had my fill of conversations with stressed-out Holiday-Farang-Buddies.

Back in the sticks, I am again in an other universe. Far away from any rat-race, hustle and bustle and stressed-out Farangs, fearing for Europe's (and their) own future.

As before, if the "sticks" get to me, I know where the neon lights are.

In the meantime, it's strictly COUNTRY COMFORT.

Cheers.

I used to be like that, now I don't even want to go to neon comfort. Once a week I meet with local farangs for some conversation and after we meet at the local karaoke for some eye candy. Then perhaps every three months I go to the provincial capital for some Thai Rock n Roll. That's about all the excitement I can handle.
