Valentine
Happened on the bypass a couple of days ago & yesterday one lane was still partially blocked off. Looks like plenty more loose stuff ready to come down with some large cracks behind the big boulders which already came down. When I first saw it there were flashing lights on the top of the rise making it obvious there was something wrong & the traffic was lined up in orderly single file & able to keep moving albeit slower than normal. However, soon they started coming up on the inside lane & then the shoulder led by mini buses at which time traffic virtually came to a stop as the queue jumpers pushed in up by the rock slide. cornishcarlos
I came across that just after it happened... No police or any emergency crew had arrived, just 2 construction workers trying to clear the small stuff from the outside lane. Fair play, they were wearing hard hats

madmitch
It's never looked particularly safe from the day they expanded that road. Surely there must be a way to prevent this type of incident as it is effectively man-made.

Valentine
Talking about potential rock slides has anyone noticed the Patong City sign has for quite a while become the leaning Patong City sign & there is a bunch of hillside there which could come down. Perhaps the builder left his plumb bob at home that day.
GiantFan
Anybody that's been around a while will recall the Bypass project was delayed and then re-jigged To "just get it done". Was bound to happen eventually.

Which means 500,000 to the sign, 11 million to the admin, and 500,000 to the cronies.
