Chiang Mai Football

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I am moving to Chiang Mai in February of next year, In England I am used to playing football on a regular basis, both 11-a-side and 5-a-side, can any of you guys suggest any teams that I could join once I make the move? post-4641-1156694572.gif

Any help / suggestions would be great!

Cheers,

Shaun

Hi Shaun, I stayed in CM about one year, going to come back there very soon. I also used to play a lot of football back home, but there I switched to Muay Thai lol
But no, really I didn't even try with football, I guess it won't be too hard to find.
If you are good enough, you can try to go to the Chiang Mai FC and get a contract there... otherwise, I would just try to go to every football pitch and ask around, speaking a little Thai would help but I bet it won't be difficult to find a team.
I know a place with one 11 players pitch and like 2 or 3 5 players ones, it is near the big C Hangdong 1, not too far from the airport. I guess there are a few local teams there, from training to occasionally playing.
Just don't bother to go to the CM University fields, they only play inter-faculty tournaments there and they can't accept externals in the teams (it was the only time I tried and I was bounced for this reason). Good luck!
P.S. Thais LOVE English football ! wink.png

Theres hundreds of 5v5 turf fields around that have pick up style games going on every night. You won't have a problem finding a place to play.
