England would do well to drop Rooney....other than that it was a fairly solid performance.

The defence would not work against a more clinical side though....you have two years to get it right lol

Agreed - but it won't happen. Roy will need a series of terrible performances to justify to himself the humiliation of dropping his captain so soon. Huge mistake giving the captaincy to Shrek when his performances have been patchy for a some time. Hart was the obvious low risk choice - no competition for his place on the horizon and has the demeanor for the job.

Goalkeepers do not make good captains in my book.

Centre half or midfielder.

Agreed. I'm thinking Cahill's shaping up a bit at the mo but the juries really out. Its such a woeful state of play in the England set up.

I had more time for Roy than most but despite the latest result he's just sapped all my support out of me.

Cahill for Captain. Rooney is struggling to do his own job, let alone anything more.

Rooney was given the man of the match award by several pundits/media. didn't see the game my self but you would obviously know more than they would.

I watched the match and although Rooney was a vast improvement from the Norway game, I wouldn't have given him MoM. Have you got a link to the pundits who did? Personally, and not just cos he's City but Hart was MoM contender for me as he did a few super saves that kept us in it. I think almost all of the players with the exception of Jones had just as good a game as Rooney, with Baines, Wellbeck and Delph having a particularly good game.

When you have two pacy strikers like that there is little point having Rooney playing behind them because he can't move his fat bum fast enough to keep up with them.

Wilshere should be playing there.

He's no holding midfielder to be honest.

No he's not, but Sterling should have the '10' role for years to come....altho' under Hodgson who knows?

I watched the match. MoM went to some bloke called Welbeck as far as I can see in the press. wink.png

Good job Chelsea didn't buy either Rooney or Welbeck imho.

Mourinho was probably only playing games though.

C'mon Harry.facepalm.gif Lancaster Gate, or wherever the FA headquarters is now, is having a laugh.

Trouble is though, they aren't are they.

I suspect there was some tomfoolery with that photo. That doesn't happen often, no ?whistling.gif
