Hi,

Can any one provide any advice on the ease or difficulty in obtaining a business visa to visit Saudi Arabia? I am living in Thailand and have a british passport but I am unsure if the Saudi Arabia embassy in Bangkok will accept visa applications from non-Thais. I have also checked on line and there are suggestions about bang guarantees being needed, medical certificates, etc, but I cant find anything on the Saudi Embassy website.

Thanks,

Kevin

Saudi Arabia does have an Embassy/Consulate located in a high rise building somewhere near Sathorn Road in Bangkok.

I have previously obtained a visa there but it was not too easy..

At the the time a work permit was required or you would have to apply in your home country... if the entity you are visiting has any influence they may be able to get them to forget about the work permit (they did for me).

You will also need to make a declaration at the British embassy.. I can't remember the full details but it was to do with you being able to finance your trip.. I think I went along to the British embassy with a letter and proof of funds and they simply stamped it.

Embassy of KSA must be one of the quietest Embassies in Thailand, given that Saudis are forbidden to visit Thailand and Thai's are generally not allowed to KSA except pilgrims (Blue Diamond Affair).

I fould the consular officer to be very helpful..

This info is about 7 year old..

EDIT: Just read through some old email thread... The company sent me a pre-authorisation screenshot from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign affairs too, that was required.
