I am back in the U.S. and my neighbor has started to harass me again. He is trying to bully me. My concern is, when I return to Thailand for an extended period, will he do damage to my property. So I am looking for a good, easy-to-use,not too expensive (but peace of mind is paramount) surveillance system. Any help would be appreciated.

The police say there is nothing they can do because I have no proof. I took them to court about 10 years ago and that cost stopped them until this week.

Where do you want to buy and install this system, Thailand or the US?

Sorry this is new to me. I will probably need 4-8 cameras. I assume I will need A dvd recorder or a way to get it to a laptop I leave at home? That page is not self explanatory enough for a newbie.

As you're going to be away for an extended period you may be better looking at one of the monitored alarm systems (expensive) which actually has someone (police or security firm) attend the property when there is an intrusion.

Surveillance alone is great for showing you someone is breaking in when you're 12,000 miles away

I'd go with paying for an ADT monitored system. If you have a self monitored system the DVR resides in your house in the US, so if the guy is out to do some damage and if he's got half a brain he'll take the DVR in your home. Yep you can monitor the cams here in Thailand, but I'm assuming you won't be watching 7x24. I seem to recall ADT commercials and I don't think it was too expensive per month, and certainly cheaper than getting back to find your home trashed I'd suggest

you can buy game cameras that use SD cards and motion detect deer etc or rats that live next door

but put a few cameras around that are easy to find and maybe steal ! then they will think they can do what they want but you have hidden cameras too !
