Lumpini police to indict doctor in surrogacy cases within next week

BANGKOK: -- Lumpini station police said they expected to indict Dr Pisit Tantiwattanakul, owner of All IVF Clinic, by the end of this month, on two charges in connection with the surrogacy cases provided for a Japanese father.

Pol Col Decha Promsuwan, chief investigator, revealed the update of the surrogacy cases after Dr Pisit reported the police Friday for the third time and handed over official documents on operation service, and his clarification of opening the obstetrics and gynaecology services.

The officer said the doctor faced charges of operating a medical facility without proper documentation and neglecting to supervise medical personnel at the clinic to abide by medical professional regulations.

He said all needed documents and evidence have been compiled and expected to indict him in the court by end of this month.

Dr Pisit is owner of All IVF Clinic of which its obstetrics and gynaecology service licence has been suspended.

Wouldn't the public prosecutor indict rather than the police?

Good they are letting him know in advance so he can have time to leave thailand

Just thought about the same. Police charge but then again this is Thailand

I think you both mean the representative from the Ministry of Tea Money right? ;)

This seems to be typical with thai police. We will warn him and if he is still there next week we will pick him up and charge him.I sometimes wonder if it is to do with not wanting to get involved---- too much paper work and not much other incentive so hope he does a bunk. case closed.
