Civil court annuls expulsion order against Indian businessman Satish Sehgal

BANGKOK: -- The Civil Court Tuesday annulled the expulsion order against Indian businessman Satish Sehgal. Then, interior minister Chalerm Yoobamrung issued the order on allegations that Satish joined demonstrations against the Pheu Thai government.

The court ruled Tuesday that the process that led to the order issuance was biased and violated the Civil Court's earlier order that prohibited the Pheu Thai government from announcing the state of emergency.

Good decision.

But I'm happy to see my friend's, Chalerm Yoobamrung, name appearing again on the limelight.

And I believe all his decisions should have been annulled by now.

It was just political vengeance against people joining protesters. There were many Chinese citizens protesting against last government, they just picked an Indian, because they they are voiceless minority here.

Common sense prevails against the rantings of Chalerm and his puppet master.

Time to issue an expulsion order to Chalerm for total incompetence and wasting the courts time.

Civil Court conducts hearing on Indian businessman’s deportation case

BANGKOK, 30 September 2014 (NNT) - The Civil Court of Thailand has summoned Mr. Sathit Segal for a hearing after he had filed a petition against former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her deputy Chalerm Yubumrung over their orders to deport him out of Thailand.

Indian businessman Sathit Segal had been forced to leave the country for instigating unrest and civil disobedience after he joined the protest movement of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), a group aimed to topple the Yingluck government.

Mr. Sathit had been an active leader of the group and claimed that the charges against him were unjust, as the Civil Court had issued a temporary protection order (TPO) for all the protesters.

He has requested the Civil Court to drop the charges against him, claiming that the deportation orders were illegal. Even though Mr. Sathit is an Indian national, he had been living in Thailand for almost his entire life and has been credited by several of his colleagues as a man who had done many good acts for the Thai society.

Indians are far from being a "voiceless minority" here. Many Indian families control huge portfolios of property in Bangkok and their family roots in Thailand go back several hundreds of years. They have vast wealth and know how to use it. Hardly "Voiceless".

So any order given using the state of emergency as an excuse will be annulled.. Lets hope that Chalerm and YL can br charged for the attack on the protesters at that bridge which killed many including police

Time to issue an expulsion order to Chalerm for total incompetence and wasting the courts time.

This was always a sickening example of Thai (and Sino-Thai) racism against the generally hard-working, honest and decent South Asian population living here. Sad to say, this racism was echoed by a number of Thai Visa contributors who should be deeply and thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

So S. Seghal may stay.

Very important to know.

Time to issue an expulsion order to Chalerm for total incompetence and wasting the courts time.

Or maybe time to issue an expulsion order to some posters here for wasting our time posting on topics, where they clearly don't have a clue.

Chalerm was never Interior Minister!!

The expulsion order was issued by the then caretaker Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsawan.

On the way to the airport please pick up the "journalist" from the Nation.

Both equally guilty of ignorance!!whistling.gif

Expel all Reuters reporters for ignorance too, right??

"If Satish didn't do anything, why would I be deporting him?" Chalerm asked.

The order was issued by the "Immigration Commission" which then had to get endorsement from Chalerm.

Satish Sehgal is now free to live in the country

3-5-2014-9-59-23-PM-wpcf-728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- The Civil Court on Tuesday revoked the order of the defunct Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) to deport the Indian businessman Satish Sehgal with reason that the deportation order\'s was discriminated and defying its order.

Satish, an ethnic Indian, faces deportation on order of former CMPO director Chalerm Yoobamrung allegedly for openly and publicly criticising the Yingluck government during a People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protests.

The Civil Court revoked the CMPO director’s order reasoning such order was discriminated and defied the court’s earlier order which prohibited the CMPO to enforce the state of emergency decree.

Sathit, also the chairman of the Thai-Indian business association, was accused of leading protesters in Bangkok’s business district.

On January 22 this year the caretaker government put Bangkok and part of its suburbs under a state of emergency that is to run two months.

Chalerm, as head of the CMPO, has already ordered the Immigration Department and police to commence the procedures to deport Sathit.

However the deportation process was put on hold after Satish petitioned to the court.

From post just above this one.

Ha ha ha. Stick that to ya, Chalerm!!!!

Good Lord....... that was hard reading..... past, present.... is, as, has...... hum.. I thought Chalerm was back, for a moment, until after re-reading 3 times. facepalm.gif

The good deeds cited by his colleagues would no doubt include publishing a magazine in which 'celebrities' give ringing endorsements of restaurants and other establishments owned by other 'celebrities'. It would be hard for the casual reader, the main audience, to see the network of inter-relationships involved. Those readers would probably be expecting an unbiased publication.

I WAS WRONG!!

(and so was the OP)

Based on the courts reading he should sue Mr Chalerm for defaming his basic Thai residency rights!

For him I am extremely happy, its a good man with no ill intensions and contributed far more to the country the Lucks brigades ever will acknowledge!

Congratulations

Has Chalerm been annulled yet? One can only hope.

So petty and predictable

Told you.

I think you will find Chalerm has served as interior minister, although he was not in that position when he tried to get the explusion carried out. It is apparent ignorance is an affliction suffered by many who do little research/study.

They remind me of the poliice in the photo shots, pointing the fickle finger of fate hoping to be noticed themselves.

Wonder how much the Indian had to pay lawyers...to go thru the judicial process and remain in Thailand...this really sucks for the Indian guy...

So petty and predictable

Not only rich man... also a fact that no yellow follower will ever face justice !

Or maybe he has done some charitable donations, or political donations - bit like buying a peerage from the Labor party in the UK. Us mortals will never know.

We do all know that Mr. Amsterdam was subsequently allowed to appear on stage making highly political statements in support of PTP and certain of their leaders. The usual double standard completely biased non legal approach by PTP. And to think, Dr. Pol Captain Chalerm has a PhD in law and is an ex police officer. Thought he's know the law.

Still, he's the one with the very big mansion and fleet of very luxury cars at his disposal.

So petty and predictable

Told you.

Like Sondhi you mean whistling.gif ?

Least he's staying to face the music - not running like some.

Must be a big pastry box to annul his expulsion. He can pay.

Not only rich man... also a fact that no yellow follower will ever face justice !

What "justice" is this guy supposed to be facing?
