Smartphone users can check flood updates on an app now

BANGKOK, 3 October 2014 (NNT)-Mobile users will be able to get flood updates on their phones soon. The Royal Irrigation Department has launched an application called WMSC (or Water Watch and Monitoring System for Warning Center). It has been developed specifically for users of IOS smartphones and tablets.

The application will allow users to access geographical information provided by the Department. They will find themselves updated on the current water levels in major rivers and dams across Thailand. Real time CCTV footage can also be viewed on this application. It can be downloaded from App Store.

In case of flooding, users can tap into both daily and weekly flood updates. Other useful content also includes the geography of agricultural areas and irrigation systems. There is also a Facebook page and an online forum for people to share their views as an alternative to smartphones.

The same application for Android is still being developed at present, but it is expected to be ready for these users in the near future.

Just in time for next year's drought http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/765341-worse-drought-in-thailand-expected-in-2015/

As a riverside dweller I need accurate predictions of the river levels expected over the next days, it shouldn't be that difficult to do, should it?

It is in Thai which is fortunate if you can read Thai.

I cannot see where there is an option to make it English.
