15 days visa exempt entry How to extend?

Featured Replies

I have a friend who arrived on a "15 day visa on arrival" entry but now wants to stay longer. What options does he have to stay longer? Can he extend stay by exit and entry at border or does he have to go to another country and apply for a visa?

If he's on a visa exempt entry, go the the nearest immigration office, fill in a TM7 form with one picture, pay 1900 baht and get a 30 day extension. No need to do a visa run!

I assume you mean a real 15 day visa on arrival that he paid 1000 baht for on entry. Or is it a 15 day visa exempt entry gotten at a border crossing.

If a real VOA the longest extension is 7 days. The ability to get a tourist visa would depend upon what country he is from.

If a visa exempt entry he can get a 30 day extension at immigration (new rules).
