October 20, 201411 yr NHRC to question KohPha-ngan police chief on Koh Tao case KohPha-ngan police superintendent has been invited to testify to the National Human Rights Commission as part of the commission’s fact-finding investigation into allegations of torture against two Myanmar suspects held for their alleged involvement in the murder of two British backpackers on Koh Tao on September 15. Commissioner Nirun Pitakwatchara said today that the probe was a matter of procedure after the commission had received complaints of torture or mistreatment from the suspects. He disclosed that the warden of KohPha-ngan prison had already testified to the commission and assured that the two Myanmar suspects had not been mistreated while being detained in KohPha-ngan.He said that KhunyingPornthipRojanasunant, an inspector-general of Justice Ministry and director of the Justice Ministry’s Forensic Medicine Institute, would also be invited to testify to the commission to give their views.Earlier, DrNirun said members of the commission had called on the British and Myanmar ambassadors separately to seek information from them about the murder case. October 20, 201411 yr Conclusion: They beat themselves up in agony over the serious crime they "committed"!! Now that we have followed procedure, could we please get on, and sentence those brutal non-Thais to death!!
October 20, 201411 yr I read in another English newspaper that a doctor who checked them for signs of torture found none-not surprising when the two men said they were abused by placing a plastic bag over their heads. Human rights group wants to x-ray them to see if any hidden abuse. There are many other forms of torture other then beatings. Review the methods used by Americans with terrorists post 9-11. I am American by the way.
October 20, 201411 yr the Thai NHRC is not a group known as effective in protecting human rights. I don't expect much to come of this hearing.

October 21, 201411 yr I agree...it's a show for the world stage. Does anyone really think any Thai witness called in to testify is actually going to say something other than the party line?
October 21, 201411 yr the Thai NHRC is not a group known as effective in protecting human rights. I don't expect much to come of this hearing. Yep, given Thailand's human rights record, they have some work to do!
October 21, 201411 yr did anyone in their right mind would think the cops would say "yes your dead right, we did beat them about a bit" well it is just not going to happen,
October 21, 201411 yr Just another smoke screen to get away from the true question. Does the burmese DNA match( not the cigarette butts ),but the sperm left in the victim. The confession means nothing. as the enactment and confession state the boys hitting both victims with the hoe. Clearly the boys cannot tell the correct story of that night. 3 bottles of beer between 3 does not wipe memory that much. Do the DNA test and have it independently verified.
October 21, 201411 yr Just give the police chief a 500 baht fine for torturing. It's must less hassle.

Do the DNA test and have it independently verified. the dna, in my opinion, was set up. let me explain. when they got the two boys dna they sent that to the DNA matcing police guy, who was in the middle of an epic solitare game, to tell then it was dna from the victims body, then they had to get DNA from the two boys again and go, oh, oops, we lost your first dna. next. their dna happens to match the dna from the police guy who had his dna starter kit ready. because the original "lost" dna was used. its a trap. we all know who did it. please see CSI LA fb page.
October 21, 201411 yr I have been wondering why this human rights group has been so vocal about Thailand since the coup - particularly as they were so quiet about Government actions during the protests. Then I realised they are a Thai group. Explains everything.
October 21, 201411 yr Family related DNA testing for Koh Toa people. This way will bring the killer out right away. I convinced the real killers have blood relatives living on the island..Take the first dna Sample found in the female victim compare it with DNA test of most of the people who were on the island on the day of the killings..Uncles,brothers,mothers if blood related to the killer it will show up in the testing..It really so easy to find the killers if they want it!!!
October 21, 201411 yr // it was stated that bruises were seen and pics were taken of them by a "lawyer"? Their lawyer made many declarations to media, but showed nearly nothing until today ?? They were abused on KT, // How do you know about that? What kind of abuse?
October 21, 201411 yr They were abused on KT, not in KPN prison though. KT is too small. Their police are part of the KPN police force. That's why.

Now the son could come home after the "true" criminals could be found.
