In my search for an apartment near Suvarnabhumi airport, I was told to try looking at "Tanna City" by a taxi driver. Anyone know of any apartments in this area for around 10000B/month? Is it very close to the airport? How about other things (food/shopping) when not going to the airport. Anything close? Would anyone that knows of this place recommend it for someone that will have to commute to the new airport almost daily?

Nobody has replied to your request, so I will, but my information may be somewhat out-of-date, as I lived there eight years ago, when I was working in the Bangplee area.

The development is called "Thana City", and its main entrance is on the Bangna-Trad highway, however there is a back entrance on Wat King Kaew Road which I think would give easy access to the airport. I lived a small two-bed, two-bathroom apartment at Thana Place, which is the back of the whole development furthest away from Bangna-Trad. At the time I left (1998), the monthly rent was 6,000 baht - no idea what it would be now. Just inside the back entrance I mentioned there was a sales/rental office - I dealt with a very nice lady there called Khun Waraporn.

Unless things have changed a lot, you would need some form of transport I think living there, a car or motorbike. There is now a Tesco/Lotus about 5km in towards Central City Bangna.

Check around bangna.

If you commute daily to the airport, better get a transportation.

It's right in the flight path of the new airport too, a bit noisy I'd guess.

Must be a different one - Thana City I lived in is definitely on Bangna-Trad, and as was pointed out, directly in the flight path of the new airport!!

it was nice, incide Thana city there are like a minimarket if what you need is something fast.. and about 10 min the supermarket, central bagna mall center, and many things.. my only problem was the traffic, before used to be a caos, cuz it was not high way, now is very fast, very cheap prices and quiet area. I like it!

You need to have own transport , Nouvelle Condos and Prestige Condo are about 1km from the main road .

The whole area of Thana City include the beautifull Golfcourse will be right in the flightpath and for shopping the area is dead, better look near Central City Bang Na (Parkland) or even Bang Ba (Wealthy Tower in Sukhumvit Soi64/1) .
