Can I "lock" Pictures On The Forum

Featured Replies

I have been asked by many people to post pics in my "Pattaya Street Kids " thread in the Pattaya forum.

I would love to do this, as it well help generate interest. However I have been advised that I should only do it if i can "lock" them in so that they cannot be downloaded.

I have come across websites that do this, but I have no idea if it can be done on TV.

Can anyone advise please.

thanks

Not likely unfortunately. Even if TV was able to do it, you can still steal the pictures.

We were having a discussion about this on another site, and one of the members mentioned certain software that allows him to copy pictures even from "locked" sites.

Not to mention that simple screen capture programs (and using the "print screen" function) will allow people to steal poorer quality copies of the pictures should they so desire.

Personally, I would suggest uploading your pics to one of those sites that do "lock" the pics, and then link the pics to your posts here on TV.

Not the perfect solution, but most likely the quickest and easiest.

I would also suggest "watermarking" the pics before uploading.

"Watermarking" is the text you see on some pictures, showing the website they came from, or who they are copyrighted to.

You could watermark your pics with the web address of the charity for example.

I'll have a look at my photoshop software to see how easy it is to do (apparently it's not hard).

My God Kerry, Another site! And heres' me thinking you are 24/7 on Thai Visa!! :D (judging from your ubiquitous postings) Do you never sleep? :o

Anyway, thanks for the info; it ties in with what someone else told me. I'll see what I can do about water marking. I have acdc - I'll see if that has the facility, although I'm not too bright at this sort of thing. (I'ts an age thing, you know :D

Meanwhile, I have been advised that if I stick to group photos that include adults, it should be OK.
