My missus said they had them before in the garden and they "Ate everything in 2 days"

We had them in the trees.

They bored in at the base and killed otherwise very healthy trees.

Rotten things they are.

There maybe a spray that wipes them out but my Missus used fly spray to kill them

They seemed to appear just after we had black soil laid down and new lawn laid.

So we assumed they came from the garden nursery we employed.

When I first looked at the photos I thought they were the Oleander Hawkmoth caterpillar which are very common in Thailand.

But then I looked more closely and the caterpillars are not green with a large eye but more like the Giant Altas moth catepillar.
