Danish tax fraud suspect arrested in Phuket

Featured Replies

That is good - can the Thai police now start catching this country's tax evaders?

Tax evaders in this country?

What a nasty and almost demeaning term. According to the local mindset and the use of Thai newspeak we refer to them as “inactive tax payers.”

Business must be slow for Interpol to track a tax evader in Patong. Maybe these guys can put their efforts into closing down ISIIL money trail, or, better yet give them a job here arresting all of the tax frauds here, police, government officals, shop owners, drug and gun runners.

Thai police can ID in Patong at a bar restaurant at night but they can't ID killers of tourist or robbers, I guess they all look the same. Why have CCTV when all you need is a photocopy of someone. Maybe I should sent some photos of the jet ski operators on the beach or the illegal food stalls on the sidewalks meant for tourist to walk on.

luv them pics, keep them comming :-)

4 years of holiday finished,

money propably also finished,

now he will get free lodge and food in DK,

what he missing in future ??

6 guys standing in back of the tax evader all without a uniform. It must laundry day or dress causal day with the RTP.

its too much work,

every day to take on the uniform,

and you would take it off for sleep ( I mean sleep on evening in home - not office )

What are the penalties in that country for tax evasion?

The only guy I knew personally who got nailed in the US did 10 years in a federal minimum security prison. (Max. security is for dangerous offenders.)

Didn't they nail Al Capone for that eventuallylock.gif ?

Yes Al Capone was only got and sentenced for tax fraud for all the other crimes not enough evidence.

My speech follow the money and you will getting the most corruption and tax fraud cases on the ass.

I do not know if this man is guilty. I only asked myself why farangs think that they can hide in Thailand. Your visible where ever you go, it easier to hide in your home country or in other European countries. As a wanted person you have zero chance.

does Interpol really track down tax cheats? You'd think they have better things to do with their time.

Interpol's main tasks are public safety and terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, arms smuggling, trafficking, child pornography, economic crime and corruption..

They could open an office then.

Most often reality differs from what we are thinking!

Interpol is funded by governments, getting money back for governments is one of its main tasks. But not from the mega rich oligarchs who do most of the tax avoiding.

Governments act for their own interest not for citizens

You never heard of plain clothes cops?

Dear oh dear....farang must have Bobby in full uniform else he can't recognise.

With taxes higher than 50% in Denmark he should be awarded a medal. What a grim socialist dump.
