Sharky won't leave pattaya because he has "adopted" a daughter, you can check out his facebook page. He's not afraid to die because he grew up as an orphan and had nothing. Hence he feeds homeless dogs and takes care of poor kids, etc

He does have a temper though, stabbed some guy on the street during a confrontation, was brought into the police station but the other guy didn't file charges so he was released. More power to him for standing up to the police but he's standing in a grey area so he gets what he deserves sometimes, thats just part of the game he's playing.

My real underlying point is that I really admire the guy for standing up for what he believes in and not by just painting a placard with poster paint and marching and protesting, but he is prepared to give his life for what he believes in.

His bravery needs to be applauded whether you agree with his lifestyle or not, at least he lived it on his terms!!

We all know the police are robbing people every single minute of every single day in this country. The timing is wrong to terrible....there's a world of pressure on Thailand now and they need to clean up their image on the world stage....what we could well be seeing is a "Sharky's law" take place - undesireable = gone.....

It's easier to expell undesireable foreigners and grabs a lot more international press than Thai on Thai....cleaner too - no backroom local deals to be brokered - there's a lot of international clean up that needs to be done in Pattaya and taking down the biggest/loudest/meanest looking/disruptive soi dog on the block is a good place to start for the Thai's as well as a message sent to others.....

Hope he doesn't but the Thai Cops aren't scared of him. Don't know where u got that idea. I'm the same as you... I have been applauding his guts for standing up to the corrupt bastards but they WILL NOT BACK DOWN and nor will Sharky. Someone will die over this. I'm sure of it. The cops will make an example of him. As you say it's too public now. If the cops are seen to fold for him, another guy will finally grow the balls to stand up to them. The second guy might not be as big and scary as Shark.. Then a 3rd guy will give it a go and he's even smaller and less scary.. What everyone does not see or know is that this guy is doing this to be noticed and be popular . He only behaves like this for the cameras . Yesterday I was at soi9 police station when the police summoned him for interview, he arrived like a wee boy , very polite , telling police he had nothing against them and he trusted them , however there were no cameras , so no show . He like to make a show but when the chips are down he is only a showman . The police know this and don't really have any concern . If they did they would simply cancel this visa and deport him . He simply like to talk big .

No matter what the man is like or his reputation, he deserves to have his complaint investigated. How many times have we all been "ripped off"? I had a taxi driver drive off with my laptop and the police reply, when I had given the number of the dab driver was "Give me 3,000 Baht and we will look into it. Its about time we all stood up to these criminals who pretend to be police, but we have no recourse because we are not "The chosen race", Thai.

I've seen the guy and his appearance is scary but everybody that knows him thinks he is OK.

He does come across as brutally honest.

I would certainly trust him over the Thai Police.
