How far from the septic tank

Featured Replies

Must be some retired plumber's out there. Building a new house and one toilet will be about 15 meters from the septic tank. With fall of about 400 to 500mm over that distance. Will this work or too far ?

Fall should be 1:10 i.e. 1 inch in 10 inches, 1 meter in 10 meters, etc.

Distance from house minimum of 7 meters/20 feet IF you have good drainage and a drain field and not just a tank in the ground.

The Thai way.

The Farm House, thus the toilet is 2 metres from the Canal.

The septic tank is between the two ... w00t.gif

... and there is a decent chunk of concrete missing the the tank's rim ... wacko.png

Do you have a septic tank and field? Any slope 1° or more will work. What pipe material are you using?

And make certain the vent stack goes straight up, through the roof from the toilet drain.

Sorry, I thought this thread was about Americans.

The thai way is UPHIILL

That'll work!

A few different ideas on drainage mentioned above.

The uk standard is minimum 1 in 40 for 4inch drain and 1 in 60 for 6inch drain.

The OP drain is more than adequate to drain the bogs "at speed"

But uphill is the norm here.....seriously!

I think you're confusing Thailand for Ireland. They do both end with 'land', so I'll give you that :P

Sorry, I do not understand this.

Level, or nearly level is OK. But should go down, never uphill???

Arjen.

Its sarcasm which is actually true....spend enough time on building sites here and you will learn a lot abiut how to go about building the wrong way.
