You could also buy some pva glue and then splash in a few drops of soy sauce for a lighter colour and oyster sauce for that darker colour.

Cheap effective and yes....i am serious.

And for bulk, use sanding dust from similar coloured wood. That's what we did in the old days.

Acrylic fillers sold at HomePro possibly easier.

Thanks to all for your help. Some advise on the best way to put the filler into the rather narrow cracks, without messing up the surrounding areas ? Cheers.

Masking tape and/or a steady hand with caulking gun and wet cloth at the ready.

Yep, sounds fhe way to go. Guess the tricky bit is getting the color right. Thanks again. Problem solved.
