Now that is a comment that really puzzles me.

The man certainly met a better end than these would:

I think his end is preferable.

However, I think referring to a sad picture of elderly people who probably had no choice as 'these' is distasteful.

I wish i will die like that. A nice way to reach the end of life.

Age is not a factor in liking sex and as long as a person can get it up, good luck to them.

The only "good way to go" about this was before suffering a heart attack he was pursuing a lifestyle of sex with prostitutes in Thailand. That's better than having a heart attack after living a dull life as a pensioner in the West (as some there, but not all, do).

However, dying in excruciating pain is never a good way to go. Stop deluding yourselves.

Try actually reading before engaging mouth: "That's better than having a heart attack after living a dull life as a pensioner in the West (as some there, but not all, do)."

Since you fail to see the real point made I'll put it again: very nice for him he was attempting sex before he had the heart attack, but dying of a heart attack is NOT a good way to go: it features a lot of pain and suffocation. This guy was not "living the life" one second then sleeping the big sleep in the next second: something happened in between that was the way he went and it was not a "good" way at all.

Better to say "At least he was living the life before he had the heart attack."

I should probably qualify why I seem to be party-pooping here: because to my mind over-simplifying this and saying it's a good way to go just seems to condone dangerous behaviour in people with health issues or those who are so old they should be taking better care of themselves. Being 70+ shouldn't mean you must stop enjoying life, but people should consider the wisdom of their actions when using performance-enhancing drugs and then engaging in the bedroom Olympics at a certain age or level of health.

I'm also not saying a 70+ guy should not do viagra and have sex, I'm simply warning against romanticising it.

BTW - for all you "young" studs - mutually satisfying sex is not always dependent on a raging erect chubby - particularly here in LOS.

That's why I don't have to take any performance enhancing drugs - au naturel does it for us - the way lovemaking should be.

You're right about mutually satisfying sex, so I'm surprised at your reaction in this topic, but maybe that's because you missed my original point.

As to knowing how quickly someone dies of a heart attack, even if it's relatively quick there will still be some suffering. A lifestyle of hedonism over a long period of time vs. a few moments or even minutes of intense suffering might be justifiable to some though. One thing is for sure: a heart attack is not like a switch that flicks and suddenly you're comfortably asleep.

There is a serious side to the event - viagra type pills can be dangerous, especially in the elderly. A friend of mine in the UK died at the age of 61 after taking a viagra type medication. This is the second case I have heard of.

It is indeed dangerous, like all meds that are abused and anyone with high blood pressure and taking meds should not take viagra or similar.

However, 2 cases from the millions that take this product is hardly a call for its withdrawal.

We are born to die. What is wrong with some one who has needs from partaking of something that they have done for over many years. I would rather go this way, with a smile on my face, then linger in pain from a deliberating disease or in some other painful way.

Those viagra pills are a rip-off! I took 9 last night but only 8 of them worked + if you don't take them with plenty of water you end up with a stiff neck.

      Help needed with one question about UK frozen state pension.

      Thanks @leonard beaven. I am starting to change my mind and also think it possible to change to a frozen higher amount. Take my original example except change to going to the UK instead of the Philippines. After arriving in the UK you make 100% sure that DWP catagorises you as permanent resident. You then stay in the UK for another 185 days. You then telephone DWP and tell them that you are going to go and live in Thailand and have flight booked on xxxxxx. What does the DWP staff do? Do they just process your state pension to be frozen at the rate you are receiving? Or do they investigate that you actually had a frozen state pension previously while living in Thailand. I now think it quite possible that they will just start to freeze it at the current higher amount.

      A new way to turn right at the intersection, Thai style?

      IMHO based on how I notice many local drivers is that too many learned about road rules (if any at all) and driving originally on a motorbike/motorcycle. Cutting of corners even on mountain roads is totally an alien concept to me. I originally wondered why all the horn blowing before entering a blind turn and after seeing so many close calls began to better understand and change my driving habits here. And, based on yearly fatalities on the roads, one would think that the govt would change a lot of the rules on motorcycle use. I know, a useles idea as TIT. Best of luck out there!

      I just came back from the parole office I have to report to for the crime I committed.

      I don’t think it is necessary to print out the 90 day receipt to put in your passport. I was at immigration for extension yesterday and the IO asked about 90 days, i just showed her the receipt of notification photo on my phone and she was happy. Was going to ask her when they are going to connect in person with online reporting but decided against it !! Seems ridiculous to me, you have to report every 90 days in country but the IO has to ask me if i have done it …… that info should be on the screen in front of her !! …….. okay, let’s not go there !

The self-proclaimed 'successful businessman' is only not pouring Slurpies in a 7-11 on an Interstate highway because his daddy not only gave/willed him over $500,000,000, but co-signed all of his loans back when decent banks still loaned him money (vs the SIVs using Russian oligarch money structured by Deutsche Bank, and bragged about by both Uday and Qusay Jr & Punxsutawney Eric. Admittedly, when Mark Burnett made him a Game Show Host the guy finally made some money as well as becoming a hero to the forlorn. His leaked tax returns show just how UNsuccessful the blowhard was---even with his daddy's help. His years of constant hyperbole and self-promotion---which was a running joke for years in NYC and Wall Street circles---just goes to show Abraham Lincoln was dead right: "You can fool some of the people all of the time". What his cult fails to realize is that the world has changed in ways that make unskilled human labor as cheap as last week's losing Powerball ticket, and there is absolutely nothing 47 can do to change that, other than offer false hope to those the modern world has left behind. They are about to learn the harsh reality. Two types of people were beneficiaries of the booming Biden economy: those with marketable skills and talents, and those who can never have enough, and thus voted for 47 so that they get yet more tax breaks like 'carried interest', the deficit be damned. Call this latter group the New Robber Barons, as wealth and political clout has accumulated in the hands of the elite in ways unseen since J.D. Rockerfeller, the Melons, Fricks and Carnegies. Today their names are Musk, Thiel, Griffin, Ackman, etc. They ain't you, and they ain't "the poorly educated" 47 claims to love so much, only so long as he needs their votes. Sorry if you missed out on the Biden Booming Economy. It was so easy to make money and sock it away. In fact, not only is consumer spending up, but also consumer savings. Those who can do; those who cannot voted for 47. That was the last chance to make hay while the sun shined, because it's not Reagan's "Morning in America", but as all will soon see, it's Mourning in America. The carnage is coming. Act accordingly.
